I get this question a lot from our clients: “Will this fruit tree survive in my area?”
Whether you're in Kajiado or Diani, the answer is—more often than not—yes! We live in the tropics, and that's already a big advantage.
The truth is, there's absolutely no harm in experimenting with fruit trees. So if you’re curious about growing an apple, a kiwi, or even plantain—go for it! Try planting one or two and see how they do. After all, we don’t have to deal with harsh winters here. Sure, some parts of Kenya can get a bit dry, but that can be managed. Simple steps like watering early in the morning and late in the
evening, and mulching to retain moisture, can make all the difference.
It’s a great way to test what works in your environment. Give some of the exotic fruit trees we’ve listed a try. Then in a few years, let’s reconnect and see what’s bearing fruit!
All your trees need is full sun, good nutrition—manure is perfect—a pest-free environment (keep your orchard area clean), and regular watering. That’s it.
